We intend to hire either one or two representatives, and we are open to either a full time hire or a current student intern with interest in a full time position after graduation. Technical Sales Representative

Full time, in person at our facility in Berlin, MA

About the position

Organomation is seeking a motivated Technical Sales Representative to join our Sales and Marketing team on-site in Berlin, MA. Applicants must be available to work on-site 40 hours a week, 8:30 am to 4:30 pm, Monday through Friday.

You will interact with laboratory managers, researchers, other natural science professionals, and equipment distributors to match Organomation’s instrument lines with customer research and sample prep needs. Consequently, an in-depth understanding of Organomation's sample preparation products is required to match analytical solutions to customer needs. On-the-job training will be provided, but a background in chemistry or a related field is required. Prior experience with analytical laboratory techniques (such as solvent evaporation, solvent extraction, and LC-MS sample preparation) and sales or customer service is preferred.

A successful candidate must be able to multitask and manage various aspects of daily operations including, but not limited to: lead nurturing, sales development, customer service, international and domestic shipping logistics, tracking and analyzing sales and marketing metrics, supporting and implementing sales and marketing initiatives, and continuing development of Organomation’s internet objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Respond to and qualify incoming inquiries and quote requests via email and phone
  • Manage all steps of the sales process from qualification to quote creation to order acceptance and shipping.
  • Foster and support relationships with customers and distributors through responsive follow-up communications designed to increase customer interest in Organomation's products
  • Maintain high deal closure to meet the Company's growth objectives
  • Interact with 3rd party contractors and suppliers and meet multiple deadlines in a timely fashion
  • Field a range of phone inquiries, including requests for quotes, product recommendations, and technical support
  • Assist with other projects as needed 

Requirements and desired skills

  • Bachelors or Masters degree in Chemistry or a related field
  • Prior experience with sales is preferred but not required
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Willingness to conduct outbound and follow-up sales calls is required
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving and interpersonal skills
  • Strong desire to learn and ability to adapt to changing routines
  • High energy, positive attitude and intellectual curiosity
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time and projects effectively
  • Competence using Microsoft Outlook, Excel and Word is required

Pay and benefits

Hourly rate of $20-30 / hour depending on qualifications and experience. Full time employees are eligible for health insurance, dental insurance, life insurance, vacation and personal time, and a matching 401k plan.

Scientific Sales Internship

Part time, in person at our facility in Berlin, MA

About the position

Organomation is seeking a motivated Sales Intern to join our Sales and Marketing team on-site in Berlin, MA. Applicants must be available to work on-site for 15-30 hours a week during business hour (8am-5pm, Monday through Friday). Ideally, Organomation will hire a current chemistry student in the last year of their undergraduateor graduate degree who is interested in starting immediately with a possibility of moving to a full-time role after graduation.

You will interact with laboratory managers, researchers, other natural science professionals, and equipment distributors to match Organomation’s instrument lines with customer research and sample prep needs. Consequently, an in-depth understanding of Organomation's sample preparation products is required to match analytical solutions to customer needs. On-the-job training will be provided, but a background in chemistry or a related field is preferred. Compensation
